classics #7

You don’t have to click very far to see how constantly name checked Leftfield are. ‘Game-changers’, ‘defining electronica act of the 90s’, ‘highly influential’…you get the idea. Pretty impressive considering their catalogue consists of only two albums.

Most herald their debut Leftism as the must have of the two, yet Rhythm and Stealth – with it’s far chunkier and darker beats – was just as impressive. Choosing between “Afrika Shox“, “Dusted” and “Phat Planet” from that latter album is a toughie for sure, but in the end it was the stomping hip-hop of “Dusted” that won out (only because anything that Roots Manuva touches turns to gold).

Leftfield will be here very shortly for a national tour. Look the fuck out.
