He may be known these days for releasing post-rocky electronica and techno on his Border Community label, but earlier on in his career James Holden was more of a purveyor of lush, melodic trance tunes. In 2002, a year before the inception of BC, this mesmerising remix of one of electronic music’s go-to voices, Kirsty Hawkshaw, was released on the UK label Mainline.
It’s a beautiful piece of progressive-trance from a time when people weren’t embarrassed to admit they were into such a sound.
